The Best and Worst Laptop Brands in 2020- Companies That You Should Trust and Those That You Should Avoid

Avatar

on

Let me ask you a question: If you are buying something, do you usually rely on a particular brand, or do you do your due diligence and research the best products on the market? If it is the latter, then you are golden, but most people actually rely on particular companies.

Call them fans or brand loyalists but there are people that would go for a certain company that they like and would always vouch for their products no matter what.

Today, I am going to be talking about the best and worst laptop brands in 2020. I will go over companies that you should trust and those that you should absolutely avoid like the plague.

Why You Shouldn’t Just Rely on the Brand Name

I admit that I was once a fan of Razer. Back then, the company’s products were always reliable and although there have been reports about quality issues here and there, in my experience, they’ve been pretty solid.

However, in the early 2010s, I started experiencing quality issues with Razer products; specifically, their gaming mice.

You see, I bought a Razer Mamba Wireless edition back in the day and while it was pretty good out of the box, it didn’t last long.

I had problems with connectivity and some of the buttons needed considerable force to actuate which is not something that I like.

True enough, it was not only me who had those issues as people from Reddit have also reported the same thing (and then some).

While the company has made amazing gaming mice since then, what I am pointing out is that no particular company is 100% consistent. There will come a time when they produce some duds or defective products and that could hurt their reputation.

Although I would still consider buying products from Razer if they have good reviews, I admit that my experience kind of put me off a little bit about the company.

The same goes for laptop brands. While there are certainly some topnotchers such as Dell and HP, you should always look for fresh reviews about their products to ensure that you are getting the most bang for the buck.

With the Covid-19 pandemic, a lot of people are looking for laptops simply because they want to work from home.

If you are going to buy one soon, read further to find out which companies you should consider buying your laptop from and which ones you should avoid.

Best Laptop Brands

1.Dell

Dell XPS 13 Review

Dell is a pretty amazing company. Although it has certainly produced some less than stellar laptops before, this particular brand has been riding on a rainbow in recent years thanks to the bevy of amazing products flooding the market.

I especially love the newest Dell XPS 13. In fact, I considered it to be one of the best ultrabooks because it is stylish and everything about it is classy.

Although that particular laptop doesn’t have impressive specs, its overall style is certainly appealing to both casuals and professionals alike.

Dell’s gaming division, Alienware, has certainly made some amazing laptops as well. So really, if you want to buy a laptop in 2020, consider getting one from Dell.

2.HP

HP Spectre x360 (2019)

HP is the closest competitor to Dell in 2020. The company’s Spectre x360 13 is a great 2-in-1 laptop with professional looks and the specs to show for.

I really loved the said laptop because you can do a lot of things with it. You can showcase your spreadsheets, make certain documents, and you can even do some video editing on the side as well.

I also loved the fact that the display is really vibrant, so watching your favorite movies and TV shows will not be a problem at all.

Like Dell, HP had some problems before, but the company has definitely rectified the situation and is now on the right track.

3.Asus

ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo Review 2020

A company that is usually known for its gaming components, Asus has actually done an amazing job of producing some laptops for professional use-cases as well.

If money is not an issue, the Asus Zephyrus Duo is one-of-a-kind. It sports dual displays that you can utilize to your heart’s content. This is one of the laptops that you thought you would not need but after using it, you would clamor for it for sure.

Aside from that, I am quite impressed with the ROG Zephyrus G14. It is one of the gaming laptops on the market that sports a Ryzen 4000 laptop processor and its benchmark scores are pretty impressive for an affordable asking price.

Asus has certainly improved its reputation and I can say that I would recommend their new laptops if you are looking for one- either for work or play.

4.Lenovo

Lenovo Yoga C940 Review

If you would ask me how I would describe Lenovo as a company, I would say ‘hit or miss’. Last year, the company made some really great laptops and this year is also the same thing. However, the years prior to 2019, the company just missed the mark.

I am happy about its 2020 laptops though, most especially the Lenovo Yoga C940. It is a definite ultrabook contender and one that you should consider getting for professional use-cases.

While some users have reported that the company is not good when it comes to customer service, you rarely have to complain about its products because they are well-built (for the most part).

I also love the fact that they offer some really good-looking laptops at affordable prices, so if you are finding a budget offering that is worth the money, Lenovo is one of the best brands that you should look into.

5.Microsoft

Microsoft Surface Book 3

The creator of the ever-popular Windows operating system, Microsoft has also dabbled into the laptop space with some really impressive products.

The company’s Surface Book 3 has considerable specs, but what I really love about it is its usability. Its keyboard is amazing to type on and its tablet mode allows you to work on your projects quickly and easily.

Its seamless integration with the Windows platform makes Microsoft’s laptops a cut above the rest.

While other companies offer better high-end machines, Microsoft is still a worthy contender if you are looking for a laptop.

Worst Laptop Brands

1.Apple

MacBook Air 2020

Now, it is time to talk about the worst offenders and Apple is definitely one of them. While the company’s Macbook Pro is certainly worthy of praise, Apple’s other laptops are just mediocre at best and you are paying a lot of money for them.

Sure, the company has listened to customer feedback in that they’ve improved their laptops’ keyboards considerably, but for the money that you are paying, I believe that you are not getting the best value out there.

Of course, if you love Apple products because you want something that you can rely on, then that is your prerogative. I just think that in 2020, you are better off spending your hard-earned cash on something that is more usable.

2.Razer

Razer Blade 15

It honestly breaks my heart that I would lump Razer as one of the worst laptop brands in 2020, but I had to do so because the company’s new laptops are just not worth it.

The worst offender is the Razer Blade 15. Sure, it’s got the looks and it certainly has a lot of things going for it, but for the price, it is not an ideal gaming machine at all. You are better off buying a gaming laptop from Dell or Alienware for that matter.

It is also worth noting that the new laptops from the company have less-than-stellar build quality. Most of them are built with aluminum but it seems that the company has compromised a lot of stuff on the inside that makes things such as the touchpad unresponsive at times.

Then, there’s the software side of things. Razer Synapse 3 is still in beta and while it does work, for the most part, there are times where the program just doesn’t work as intended- prompting you to restart your machine.

Again, if you love the brand, you might consider getting some of their laptops, but I am sad to say that it is indeed one of the worst laptop companies in 2020.

3.MSI

MSI Bravo 15

Oh man, where do I even begin? I certainly loved MSI in 2019 because the company has made some really affordable gaming laptops that can beat even the most premium products on the market, but in 2020, oh how the mighty have fallen.

Its worst offender is the MSI Bravo 15. I had high hopes for this laptop because it came with a Ryzen CPU and I thought that I could play games and do some video editing work on the side, but I was wrong.

The thermals are the worst, the build quality is bad, and you could be literally throwing your money away if you get the said laptop.

I could probably forgive the company since, as mentioned earlier, no brand is 100% consistent. But, one of the worst things that could ever happen is if a particular company tries to silence independent reviewers.

TechteamGB is an independent Youtube reviewer and he has made a lot of points about how MSI Bravo 15 is not a worthy purchase.

The said Youtuber has messaged the company in the hopes of getting a good reply but the company was mum about the issue.

What’s worse is that after publishing his review, MSI offered him some money to take the video down, but the said Youtuber did not comply and left the video up.

MSI contacted AMD to help with the issue but this move just tells you how shady MSI has become. Is it due to the fact that their president was gone? Who knows, but that certainly would not fly on my radar.

Worthy Contenders

Although these companies are not lumped in the best and worst categories, they are worthy of praise and some mention. Here are some worthy laptop contenders in 2020:

1.Huawei

Huawei

The U.S. issue aside, Huawei has been making a lot of great laptops lately, particularly its Huawei D14 laptop.

If you are looking for a relatively affordable laptop with considerable specs, be sure to look at Huawei’s portfolio.

2.Xiaomi

Xiaomi

Although it is a Chinese brand, no one can argue than Xiaomi has made amazing strides when it comes to providing quality products offered at budget prices.

Whether you are looking for a gaming laptop or one that you can use at home for your work, Xiaomi has got you covered.

3.Acer

Acer

This company also makes amazing laptops. The only reason why it is not included in the ‘best’ category is that the brand still hasn’t released something that is worthy of praise this year. But, that is not to say that you should avoid it, I am just saying that they haven’t released anything substantial in 2020 yet.

4.Gigabyte

Gigabyte

Another gaming company, Gigabyte has been making some amazing gaming laptops for the masses. The recently released Aorus 17x is expensive but that is one that I considered as a gaming behemoth- both in specs and its looks.

Conclusion

Getting a laptop nowadays has become a necessity and while you might already have some brands in mind, it is still important to review the laptops that you fancy and ultimately go for one that has a lot of great reviews.

The good thing is that this website provides you with the reviews that you need to make a good purchase decision, so do come back to find out more upcoming laptops in the future.

But so far, I hope that I have helped you narrow down your options if you are looking for the best laptop for you in the market in 2020.

8 Best PC Speakers in 2020 That Will Totally Rock Your World

Avatar

Published

on

Razer Nommo Pro

When it comes to desktop audio, most people prefer using headphones for a more immersive experience. That is true when you are playing some games, but what if you want to watch your favorite shows on your computer or laptop?

Well, if you are going to watch some content on your PC, it would be best that you invest in a good set of speakers.

Fortunately for you, I will talk about the best pc speakers in 2020 that will totally rock your world and help elevate your desktop gaming and viewing experience.

Why PC Speakers?

I understand that most people that engage in PC Gaming would want to use a pair of gaming headsets. Part of the reason why that is true is that they want a more immersive experience.

True enough, there are some headphones that will provide a great sound output, but nothing really compares when you are listening to audio from a set of great speakers.

You see, PC speakers have been pushed to the wayside for more portable headsets but as an audiophile myself, you are better off using some speakers no matter what you do on your PC.

The good thing is that you will not have to scour the internet to find the best ones as I will be talking about them here. So, read further to find our top recommendations.

Best PC Speakers

1.AudioEngine A2+

Price: $270

AudioEngine A2+

When you look for PC speakers, you will find that there are those that provide 2.0 stereo sound (those without subwoofers) or those that have subwoofers that provide more bass.

Now, having a dedicated subwoofer is awesome because it produces a much better sound output. However, getting one might prove to be quite troublesome, especially when it comes to setting things up.

If you just want a pair of satellite speakers that do a pretty good job on their own, then I highly recommend the AudioEngine A2+.

They’ve been around for more than four years now but they still hold the top spot on this list mainly because they produce amazing sound output without being too cumbersome.

Typically, when we talk about 2.0 stereo sound, most speakers would come with a 3.5mm headphone jack that you should plug into the appropriate port in your motherboard, but with this one, it is different.

Instead of a 3.5mm audio connector, you will be using its own USB interface because this thing has its own built-in DAC.

The DAC provides an amazing sound, so even if it doesn’t come with any subwoofer, you will not need it at all thanks to what it can produce.

If you truly want to add more bass, this thing has you covered since it also has some RCA ports at the back as well.

All in all, if you want a convenient, compact, but still quite a powerful set of speakers, the AudioEngine A2+ is king.

2.Razer Nommo Pro

Price: $600

Razer Nommo Pro

As a gaming peripherals company, you can always expect Razer to come to the fore, especially if it means providing you with products that will help elevate your gaming experience.

While the company produces some amazing gaming headsets, the Razer Nommo Pro is actually a 2.1 stereo speaker system that produces impeccable sound.

Most gamers typically favor the low-end of the frequency range, particularly if you are playing first-person shooters. Well, the Nommo Pro will not disappoint.

The speakers are THX-certified so you will know that it can handle anything you throw at it. Although the layperson cannot notice it, audiophiles like me can certainly tell that it favors the lower frequencies that the highs and mids.

Fortunately, the overall sound quality doesn’t really get muddled by the bass so you have nothing to worry about.

What you get here are two satellite speakers with RGB lighting at their bases and a pretty large down-firing subwoofer.

You can tweak some of its parameters by using Razer Synapse but I do have to point out that you may want to tinker with the bass output, especially from the subwoofer if you are living with some neighbors nearby.

3.Logitech Z625

Price: $170

Logitech Z625

Logitech is also at the forefront when it comes to gaming peripherals and they also provide you with some amazing-sounding speakers as well.

The Logitech Z625 is what I would recommend for people that love a lot of bass. That is because the entire speaker system can draw as much as 200 watts of power for that unparalleled bass output unlike other PC speakers on the market.

It can get so loud that you should set it to only a maximum of 75% as it can get quite obnoxious if set to 100% volume.

At the back, you have a bevy of ports. You have an optical port, a 3.5mm jack, and an RCA connection.

Although it favors the bass response more than the highs and mids, setting it at 50%-75% volume will not present you with that problem.

The only downside to this set of speakers is that it doesn’t have Bluetooth. But hey, these are great for people that want that extra oomph.

4.Creative T100

Price: $100

Creative T100

For people that do not want to contend with 2.1 speaker systems that have a subwoofer, this next one is another great option for you.

The Creative T100 is just a pair of satellite speakers but do not be fooled by their modest design as they actually pack quite a punch.

They connect via optical, NFC, Bluetooth, or your traditional audio jack so you have a wide variety of options to choose from.

Each of the speakers weighs only 2.2 pounds but its small stature houses a full 2.75-inch drive with the impressive frequency range.

What you get is a more overall balanced sound which is pretty good if you are watching movies other than playing your favorite games on your gaming PC.

I tested these with a choice of bass-heavy songs and I am surprised that these things can handle them without any distortions at all.

While it is priced a bit high for a 2.0 speaker system, the Creative T100 is perfect for people that want a relatively clean setup but also want great-sounding speakers nevertheless.

5.Logitech G560

Price: $285

Logitech G560

Just like Razer, Logitech has also made its own set of RGB speakers for every gamer out there.

The Logitech G560 is a 2.1 speaker system that has some RGB goodness built-in. You will have a pair of satellite speakers that have a round shape which means that you can safely put them on your desk without taking up too much space.

But, do not be fooled by their compact form factor as they can produce amazing sound quality despite their smaller stature.

You also get a pretty big subwoofer that can handle the lower frequencies really well. That is true enough that I would recommend that you do not up the volume when you have neighbors sleeping at night.

To take full advantage of the G560, you should use its USB wired interface so that you can tweak its sound, as well as its RGB lighting.

Of course, you also have the option of just plugging it to your device or smartphone using the included 3.5mm cable. For smartphones, you also have the option to connect to it via Bluetooth as well.

The only negative thing that I can think of is that this product has a pretty steep price tag. But other than that, the Logitech G560 is one of the best speakers for gaming without a doubt.

6.Creative Pebble Plus

Price: $40

Creative Pebble Plus

If you do not have a lot of money to spend on quality PC speakers, you don’t have to. There are some really good budget options out there that still provide you with better sound than any of the gaming headsets that you can use.

That being said, if you are tight on the money, I would turn your attention towards the Creative Pebble Plus.

This 2.1 speaker system only gets 8 watts of power but it is still quite respectable for the price. In fact, I would go on to say that its audio quality is pretty good, albeit you don’t want to set the volume to its max since you will notice some distortions.

I love the fact that the ‘pebble’ satellite speakers do not take up a lot of space on your desk, making this ideal for people that only have a small area to work with.

The only negative here is that you will have to make do with the wires that are used on this system. But other than that, this is a great budget option for people that want relatively good-sounding speakers.

7.Edifier E235 Luna E

Price: $300

Edifier E235 Luna E

Do you want a futuristic-looking set of PC speakers that will complement your gaming setup? If so, the Edifier E235 Luna E has got you covered.

The 3-inch Dome Tweeters, as well as the 8-inch subwoofer, have a circular design that might be appealing for some users.

You have a choice of three colors: Red, white, and black so that you can choose whichever color you like that will complement your system.

You can connect these speakers to your computer via a 3.5mm headphone jack. If you are using a smartphone, you can also connect to it wirelessly using Bluetooth as well.

The speakers have good stereo separation which means that the bass response will not drown out the highs and the mids.

Some people say that it is a bit bass-heavy and while I agree, the good thing is that it doesn’t really muddy the higher and the middle frequencies at all.

It is on the pricey side, but if aesthetics are important to you, then the Edifier E235 Luna is an appealing option.

8.Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX

Price: $260

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX

The last recommendation on this list is actually a pretty good one, especially if you intend to watch a whole lot of movies and TV shows on your PC.

The Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 is a THX-certified set of speakers that provide amazing sound quality, especially for media consumption.

It comes with two poly-compression tweeters and a side-firing cone woofer that delivers an impressive sound that spans the entire frequency range.

Its audio quality is quite balanced which means that you no longer have to tweak anything to get the best possible results.

However, for people that favor the lower frequencies, this might disappoint you a little bit because it doesn’t give that extra oomph, unlike the Razer Nommo Pro, for example.

But, for everything else, the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX-certified speakers should give you unparalleled sound quality right out of the box.

Usually sold at $60, the Amazon Fire Stick is one of the best streaming devices that you can find on the market today.

It gives you the ability to stream content from Amazon’s own media library and almost all of them are Dolby Vision and HDR10+ compatible.

Aside from the fact that you have plenty of content to choose from, the Amazon Fire Stick also comes with a remote control that has Alexa support as well.

Price: $169

Apple Watch Series 3

Hailed as one of the best smartwatches on the market even to this day, the Apple Watch Series 3 is sold at a discounted price of just $169 from its original price of $250.

According to a lot of Apple fans, this particular smartwatch is touted to have amazing battery life (even better than the fourth version of this device).

Aside from that, it helps you record your steps, provide somewhat accurate ECG measurements, and it can also help track your sleep, among many other things.

The new Apple Watch OS has also added a slew of additional features as well; making this purchase quite compelling.

If you want to get yours, simply go to Amazon to get one.

3.Microsoft Surface Laptop 3

Price: Starts at $800

Microsoft Surface Laptop 3

Originally sold at $1,150 for the base model, you can get the Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 at a huge discount of just $800 and you can get one directly from the company’s website or on Amazon.

For the base model, you will get the 10th generation Intel Core i5 processor, along with 8GB of RAM, and a modest 128GB of internal storage.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, people who work from home would require a laptop, so getting this one is an absolutely good deal for what you’re getting.

4.Sony WH-CH710N

Price: $128

Sony WH-CH710N

If you are an audiophile like me and you want to get an excellent pair of Active Noise Canceling headphones, then the Sony WH-CH710N is a pretty good deal.

Its original sale price is $200 but you can get one from Best Buy or Amazon at a discounted price of just $128.

Although its sound quality is middling at best, it does have a pretty good noise cancellation feature and its battery life is also quite good as it can last up to 35 hours.

The sturdy build and construction of this thing will also make it last more than other headphones in the price range.

5.Acer Nitro 5

Price: $669

Acer Nitro 5

Gaming Laptops are usually sold with a price tag of more than $1,000, but if you are tight on the money, the Acer Nitro 5 is quite an appealing proposition.

For just under $700, you are getting a gaming laptop that comes with an AMD Ryzen 4600H processor, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB SSD.

This is quite an unbeatable package, especially at this price point. If you want to get one, you can get yours at Best Buy.

6.Dell G5

Price: $863.99

Dell G5

Dell often slashes the prices of its laptop offerings, especially now that people are looking for them when they work at home.

That being said, the Dell G5 gaming laptop is currently being offered at a sale price of just $864 down from $999.

Although its processor is not as good as the Acer Nitro 5, you are still getting the 10th generation Intel Core i3 processor that is coupled with the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660 Ti graphics processing unit, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD.

If you are interested in this deal and more, you can head on over to Dell’s official website.

7.HP Pavilion Gaming 15.6-inch

Price: $899.99

HP Pavilion Gaming 15.6-inch

As part of the company’s back to school deals, HP slashed the price of its HP Pavilion 15.6-inch gaming laptop by a considerable amount. Its original price is at $1,099.99 but it is now sold for just $899 which is quite a steal in my opinion.

For the price, you are getting a laptop that is equipped with the Intel Core i7-9750H, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660Ti Max-Q, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

The laptop itself doesn’t have that gamer aesthetic so that subtle look makes this a pretty good business laptop as well.

You can get this from HP’s official website.

8.Lenovo Legion 5

Price: $899

Lenovo Legion 5

The laptop deals just keep on coming and this next one is surely another great product as well.

The Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop is available to you for just $899, down from its original price of $1,199.

With this configuration, you are getting a portable machine that is equipped with the AMD Ryzen 5 4600H, Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti GPU, 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD, and 1TB HDD on top of that.

Seriously, for the price, you wouldn’t want to miss this opportunity! Go over to Lenovo’s official website for this one.

9.Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1

Price: $217

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1

Although a bit dated at this point, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 is sold at a heavily discounted price of just $217.

It has a premium build, a 10.1-inch HD display, and while it only has 2GB of RAM, it does allow you to expand its internal storage up to 256GB via a microSD.

The reason why this is still a good deal is that tablets provide you with more screen real estate, so if you want a dedicated and portable content streaming device, this is a pretty good product for that.

This amazing deal can be acquired from Amazon.

10.Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Price: $320

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Another great tablet deal from Amazon, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a much better tablet than the one above, and if you have $100 more to spend on such a device, this is the one that you should get.

This is a great media and productivity device thanks to its more vibrant screen and the included S-Pen. While there were issues with the latter, they were subsequently fixed in later updates, so be sure to get the newest one once you fire up this device for the first time.

Aside from its already amazing package, you can also get one of the tab’s stylish protective covers as well.

11.Samsung 850 EVO

Price: $228

Samsung 850 EVO

Because solid-state drives are being offered at amazing deals nowadays, there is no more reason not to get a high capacity one.

That being said, the Samsung 850 EVO is still considered as one of the best 2.5-inch SATA drives on the market and if you want to get a 2TB SSD, you can get this one on Amazon.

It was originally sold for $350, but since you can get one for just $228, this is an opportunity that you surely do not want to miss.

12.Asus VG245H

Price: $229

Asus VG245H

Capping this list off is one of the best gaming monitors for consoles that you can find below $300 and that is the Asus VG245H. It is currently being sold at Amazon.

Although this uses only a TN panel, it has one of the lowest input lags among console gaming monitors on the market.

It has a built-in low blue-light mode that protects your eyes even when you are on a gaming marathon binge.

The monitor also has FreeSync to ensure that you are not going to see any screen tearing or weird distortions here and there.

Sure, it might not have the 144Hz fast screen refresh rate that people look for in gaming display, but it certainly has the best features for console gamers, especially when it comes to low latency and input lag.

Arteck HB030B Wireless Keyboard Review- The Perfect Multi-Device Peripheral for People on the Go

Arteck HB030B Wireless Keyboard Review

Wireless keyboards have been around for years now and it is slowly being adopted in the gaming industry as well.

But, the original intention for creating such things is for convenience, especially if you want to bring the keyboard with you whenever you go.

In today’s article, I will talk about the Arteck HB030B Wireless Keyboard. Find out why I think this is the perfect multi-device peripheral for people on the go by reading through the rest of the article.

Design

The Arteck HB030B Wireless Keyboard is a chiclet-style keyboard that feels much the same way as you would feel when you type on a real laptop

One of its biggest selling points is that this particular keyboard actually supports all of the major operating systems. This includes Windows 10, iOS, macOS, and even Android.

Instead of using a USB receiver, this thing uses Bluetooth technology so you can easily pair it with your desktop or laptop.

Anyway, let’s talk about the design first. This keyboard is pretty compact. It measures only 9.7 x 5.9 x 0.24 inches and is lightweight at only 0.5 pounds. That means that this thing is really meant to be carried around with you.

Because this is a wireless peripheral, the Arteck keyboard is powered by rechargeable lithium batteries. You can plug it inside a microUSB slot and charging time roughly takes 3 hours from 0 to 100.

Its interface is pretty much what you can expect on a typical laptop keyboard. You do not have a dedicated Numpad, but it does include a function (Fn) key that you can use to enable certain functions.

People who are constantly using an ultrabook will feel right at home, but for people who are accustomed to using full-sized keyboards, you will feel that it is kind of cramped. This means that the compact design might not be for everyone.

Connectivity

Arteck HB030B Wireless Keyboard Review 2020

As mentioned earlier, the Arteck HB030B Wireless Keyboard makes use of your device’s Bluetooth capability to connect. There will be a dedicated button that will instantly look for any receiving device.

When you turn on the Bluetooth feature of your computer, you will find that this thing is marked as ‘Bluetooth Keyboard 3.0’. Pairing should be seamless once you connect to it.

While I’ve had no issues using this peripheral on a Windows and Android smartphone, there have been reports that people have trouble connecting to their Apple devices simply because the Bluetooth Keyboard 3.0 wording turns gibberish on the interface.

It still remains unclear whether or not this is a problem with Apple’s own operating system, but a certain workaround would be that you just go to the ‘Bluetooth Preferences’ of your Mac computer.

Main Interface

The Arteck HB030B Wireless Keyboard pretty much feels like your typical laptop keyboard but with a much better response and key travel. No, it doesn’t have that click sound of a mechanical keyboard, but it still feels good every time you type.

You can use this peripheral well even in low-light conditions thanks to the per-key backlighting that is included in this thing.

You also have the option to cycle through the 7 different backlight colors as well. To do that, you will have to use the function key, as well as the backlight key. Then, immediately tap the up or down arrow keys to cycle through the colors and if you find the one that you like, you can just press the backlight key again.

The different color hues you can choose from are dark green, soft blue, light green, cyan, purple, red, and deep blue. I personally like the soft blue, but to each their own.

Battery

Arteck HB030B

This wireless keyboard has a rechargeable battery and it has an included microUSB cable. You can use any charging block that is provided by your smartphone so you will have plenty of options to choose from.

In my testing, I’ve never had the need to charge this thing. It is pretty energy efficient even when using backlighting on, but to be fair, I’ve only used it for two weeks straight.

Your mileage may vary, of course. I think that the company touts this keyboard to last for months on a single charge.

Verdict

The Arteck HB030B Wireless Keyboard is a pretty nice multi-device keyboard. It can connect with all of the popular desktop and mobile operating systems and pairing isn’t a problem at all (except for Macs).

It has nice backlighting, good key travel, and has a very long battery life. If I had to nitpick, I just didn’t like the compact form factor of this thing, but for people who always use laptops, this should be a familiar feeling.

All in all, the Arteck HB030B Wireless Keyboard is easy to recommend. You can get this for only $15.

The Best and Worst Laptop Brands in 2020- Companies That You Should Trust and Those That You Should Avoid

Avatar

Published

Without further ado, let’s get on with the list.

Best Tech Deals for August

1.Amazon Fire Stick

Price: $35

Amazon Fire Stick

Usually sold at $60, the Amazon Fire Stick is one of the best streaming devices that you can find on the market today.

It gives you the ability to stream content from Amazon’s own media library and almost all of them are Dolby Vision and HDR10+ compatible.

Aside from the fact that you have plenty of content to choose from, the Amazon Fire Stick also comes with a remote control that has Alexa support as well.

So, if you do not want to painstakingly type the movie or show that you want to watch, you can simply use Alexa to do it for you.

This is a pretty good deal and that if you are an Amazon Prime Member, I highly recommend that you snag this one up immediately.

You can get one directly from Amazon.

2.Apple Watch Series 3

If you want a better configuration, you can get the Intel Core i7 version for just $1,250 which is also discounted from its original price of $1,499.

For the i7 version, you are getting the 10th generation i7 processor, along with 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage (with room for more storage, provided that you are willing to spend more).

Battery
