Best Nikon Lenses 2020

We now live in a world where anyone can take photos without having to worry about film capacity. DSLRs and digital cameras have certainly made them possible.

If you are going to buy a DSLR camera, the quality of its photos depends upon the lens you are going to use. And, while most default camera lenses are okay, you’d still want only the best.

Today, I am going to talk about the best new Nikon lenses in 2020.

Types of Lenses

Before anything else, you should know the different types of lenses that you can find on the market. Some of the most popular ones are:

  1. Portrait Lens

This is the lens that you will need if you want to maximize the subject of the photo while blurring the background. This is ideal for people that want to take wedding photos or just your regular portrait photos.

  1. Wide-Angle Lens

The wide-angle lens is something that you want to buy if you want to get as many things inside the frame as possible. This is ideal for travel photographers or for people that want to take photos of huge landscapes and the like.

  1. Telephoto Lens

The telephoto lens is a very good choice, especially for people that want to engage in wildlife photography or for whenever you want to take photos of dangerous wildlife or moving subjects. Sports photographers would also love using this as well.

Lens Compatibility

Always keep in mind that the camera company always makes two form-factors: The DX and the FX line. The former is a smaller APS-C format while the latter is what you would consider the full-frame ones.

That being said, while you can buy lenses on the market and they are going to be compatible with both models, you might not get the full experience if you buy the wrong one.

For example, FX lenses will work on DX Nikon Cameras, but the zoom or the angle of the shot is going to be a bit smaller than if you fit it with the right DX lens.

Best Nikon Lenses of 2020

  1. Nikon Z f/2.8 VR S, 70-200mm
Best Nikkon Lens

Price: $2923.55

This is the telephoto lens to get if you are a serious wildlife or sports photographer. It is built with Nano and ARNEO crystal coating that will make sure that flaring and ghosting are not going to be an issue.

It has unbelievably fast autofocus with amazing accuracy and has a multi-info display, as well as a customizable control ring that you can set to get the best possible settings.

  1. Nikon AF-P f/4.5-5.6E ED VR, 70-300mm
Best Nikkon Lens Review

Price: $651

Another amazing telephoto lens, the Nikon AF-P stands for the company’s patented pulse monitor autofocus system. Well, consider this as the company’s ultra-fast autofocus system that shifts subject focus in a jiffy. Add to that the fact that it is completely inaudible while doing so!

The reason why this is another great lens from the company is that it comes with its VR technology. No, it’s not virtual reality but it stands for ‘Vibration Reduction’, which is going to be pretty useful if you are going to be taking photos of fast-moving objects.

  1. Nikon Z f/4 S, 14-30mm
Best Nikon Lens Review 2020

Price: $1359.44

Now we go to the ultra-wide lenses. Now, the problem with most lenses of this type is that they are typically heavy and may not be ideal for some photographers. Fortunately, the Nikon Z f/4 S is different.

It is a pretty lightweight lens with a respectable f/4 aperture and 24-70mm zoom. It performs really well and even on the lowest zoom configuration, you are still getting a lot of things inside the frame.

Although it is on the pricier side, it is definitely worth getting since every dollar you spend will be worth it.

  1. Nikon AF-S DX f/2.8G Micro, 40mm
Best Nikkon Lens Review-2020 (1)

Price: $305

If you are into macro photography and you want a reliable camera lens for your DX-format Nikon camera, then this will not disappoint.

This lens is ideal for your general shooting needs but what I really like about this one is that it has a pretty good optical performance. Its lens can be set from f/2.8 to f/16 if need be and you can rest assured that there will be no distortion when shifting apertures.

Consider this camera as a general-purpose camera, especially if you have the DX model DSLR.

  1. Nikon AF-S f/1.8G, 50mm
Best Nikkon Lens Review 2020 50mm (1)

Price: $243

Not a lot of people have the luxury of spending a fortune just to get an extraordinarily amazing lens. And, if all you want to do is do some portrait photography without breaking the bank, then this lens is the one for you.

The Nikon AF-S f/1.8G is perfect for those everyday snaps and for people that want an inexpensive solution. It is lightweight, has considerable zoom, and it has fast autofocus that fits every photographer’s needs quite well.

Although this camera is intended for DX models, you can safely use it on FX models without compromises as well.

Conclusion

Nikon is a pretty good brand when it comes to cameras but to unlock their cameras’ full potential, it is important that you use the right lens for the job.

For everyday needs, portrait lenses should be the one to get. Telephoto lenses are great if you want to take photos of moving objects and wide-angle lenses are ideal for people that want to get the most elements inside a single snap.

8 Best Webcams in 2020 That Are Perfect for Video Conferencing and More

Avatar

Published

on

Logitech Brio

Do you work from home? Most businesses are employing a work-from-home setup mainly to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

That being said, whether you are using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet, you will need to have a handy webcam at the ready so that your colleagues and boss can see you.

In this article, I will go over some of the best webcams in 2020 that are perfect for your video conferencing needs and more.

What Webcam is Perfect for Me?

So, what are the things that you need to consider when you are looking for a webcam? First, you want one that can support 1080p or 4K video quality with the absolute bare minimum of 720p or HD quality. In other words, do not go below 720p. This is just to ensure that you are seen clearly by your colleagues. It is also worth noting that you go for a webcam that can shoot at 30 frames per second or higher regardless of resolution.

Furthermore, you want a webcam that can integrate with your chosen video conferencing apps really well. All of the webcams in this article can do that, so you do not have to worry, but if you were to choose other webcams, this is something important to keep in mind.

You also want a webcam that has a pretty good autofocus system so that you do not have to worry about moving around while you are speaking.

Other nifty features that you might want to consider is a built-in microphone, better ergonomics and flexibility, good companion software, and a whole lot more.

Best Webcams in 2020

1.Logitech C920s

Price: $69.99

Logitech C920s

The Logitech C920s is what I would consider as the best 1080p webcam on the market today. It is packed with a lot of features and it is sold at a reasonable price.

Its supported resolution is 1080p and you can record yourself at 30 frames per second. Other highlights include a built-in noise-canceling microphone and a really nice companion software that allows you to pan, zoom, or add effects to your videos.

Since some people do not want to use their webcams that often, the Logitech C920s comes with a convenient shutter that you can flick up or down depending if you are using it or not.

Aside from that, its ergonomics are pretty good in that you can position the webcam at the right angle.

It also has a pretty good autofocus feature that never fails to focus on your eyes and face when you are talking or moving about.

My only complaint about this webcam is its inability to stream content at 60fps, but that isn’t really a huge deal considering that you are only using it for video conferencing anyway.

The Logitech C920s is a complete package and one that I would definitely recommend for people that are looking for a pretty good webcam in 2020.

2.Razer Kiyo

Price: $150

Razer Kiyo

You might think that Razer is a company that is only focused on creating gaming keyboards and gaming mice, but that is actually not the case. In fact, they also make amazing webcams as well.

The Razer Kiyo was originally intended as a good camera for streaming but that doesn’t mean that you cannot use it for videoconferencing and whatnot.

Its biggest feature is its built-in ring light that makes you appear brighter under certain conditions. This is great if you are in a well-lit environment and the ambient lighting doesn’t accentuate your face.

The ring light’s intensity can be adjusted by twisting the circle left or right depending on your preference.

It only records and streams videos at 1080p but you have the option to set it to 60 frames per second for a smoother output.

Its ergonomic design also allows you to latch this device onto your computer or laptop with ease.

Aside from its inability to stream at 4K, its price might also deter some people from getting this one. But, I cannot stress it enough that its ring light is pretty good and you should consider getting this one if you want to appear clearer in your video conferences than usual.

3.Creative Labs BlasterX Senz3D

Price: $175

Creative Labs BlasterX Senz3D

If you want a webcam that can improve your online security when using your computer or laptop, the Creative Labs BlasterX Senz3D is for you.

It comes with an infrared sensor that allows you to log into your computer using facial recognition. This is perfect if you want absolutely no one touching your professional laptop.

One of its biggest features is that it allows you to completely remove the background while you are streaming so if you do not want your colleagues to see what is behind your back, then you are free to do so.

Aside from that, the camera can also automatically set its brightness setting whenever it detects low ambient light on your end. This is perfect if you are still conducting video conferences at night with minimal background light.

It does come with a built-in microphone, though you are still better off using one that comes with your headset or a dedicated USB microphone.

Its security features are pretty robust, but what might not be appealing for many is its high price tag. Still, it is a pretty good 1080p webcam regardless.

4.Logitech Streamcam

Price: $170

Logitech Streamcam

Although this next webcam is intended for streaming purposes, the Logitech Streamcam is also ideal for videoconferencing as well.

Sure, it is only limited to 1080p streaming quality but you do have the option of streaming at 60 frames per second for a much smoother quality.

Because of the webcam’s ergonomics, you are able to stream either in landscape or portrait modes which is pretty nice.

It has an attractive design and it has a small form factor, so putting this on your monitor or laptop’s screen will not be a huge issue at all.

While this webcam is quite expensive at $170, you do have a 3-month premium subscription to XSplit Premium along with it so I can still say that it is a pretty good deal.

5.Logitech Brio

Price: $280

Logitech Brio

Even though a webcam that is stuck at 1080p native resolution is quite good for videoconferencing, some people might want to go beyond that and improve their picture quality even more.

If you want a pretty good 4K webcam, then the Logitech Brio is for you. It comes with infrared sensors that allow you to use your computer’s face unlock functionality. It also has a built-in microphone that helps you use Windows Hello if you use that as well.

Aside from the fact that you can stream at 4K, it also has HDR functionality as well so whether you are streaming or capturing stills, this webcam has got you covered.

While it is not important in a work-from-home setup, it also comes with a 5x digital zoom feature that you might have a use for later down the line.

It is definitely one of the most expensive webcams on this list, but hey, if you want a 4K native resolution webcam, the Logitech Brio is a worthy investment.

6.Logitech C615 HD Webcam

Price: $60

Logitech C615 HD Webcam

If you want a relatively inexpensive webcam that still offers a nice feature set, the Logitech C615 is for you.

Priced at $60, it is a 1080p webcam that streams at 30 frames per second which is considerable in this day and age.

What I love about the webcam is its portability. You can store the webcam when it is not in use but you do have the option to just stick it to your monitor if that is what you prefer.

It has the ability to autocorrect the subject on its lens so you do not have to worry about overall video quality when you are talking in front of the camera.

Autofocus is also pretty good and that is something that you can expect from Logitech.

By using the company’s software, you also have the ability to adjust the white balance, as well as the color intensity of its streaming functionality as well.

All in all, the Logitech C615 is one of the best affordable 1080p webcams on the market.

7.Microsoft LifeCam Studio

Price: $119

Microsoft LifeCam Studio

If you want a 1080p webcam that is highly recommended by business professionals, the Microsoft LifeCam Studio is for you. Even the looks of the said device are worthy of a corporate environment.

Although its streaming quality is only capped at 720p, you can record videos at Full HD as well. Do not worry, 720p is the standard when it comes to webcam quality, so you are still okay with this one.

One of its highlights is its ability to rotate full-circle (360-degrees) so you adjust where the webcam faces depending on your preference.

The webcam also supports Microsoft’s TrueColor System which is just a fancy term used to signify the company’s dynamic range setting. It basically shifts exposure to make the image much clearer on the other end.

It does have a pretty good built-in microphone which alleviates the need of getting a headset or a dedicated mic (thus, saving you money).

It might be a bummer for some that you can only stream at 720p, but for what you are getting, I think it is a fair compromise.

8.Logitech C922 Pro

Price: $150

Logitech C922 Pro

The last webcam on this list also comes from the same company as our top recommendation. It seems that Logitech is at the forefront of creating innovative and amazing webcams that are fit for use no matter what environment you are in.

That being said, the Logitech C922 Pro is a pretty good webcam as well. While you can only stream at 720p, you can record videos at full 1080p.

Its field of view is 78-degrees so you do not have to worry too much about the webcam’s position on your monitor or laptop.

What I love about this webcam is its built-in stereo microphone. Voice clarity is so good that you do not have to buy a dedicated microphone just to speak with your colleagues on the other end.

By using Logitech’s software, you can also enable the automatic background removal feature, plus, its ergonomics allow you to position the camera the way you want.

It is expensive at $150 but for all of the features that you are getting, I am sure that you will not hesitate to spend money on the Logitech C922 Pro webcam.

8 Best Cameras for Vlogging in 2020 That Will Fulfill All of Your Photo and Video Needs

Avatar

Published

on

Sony Alpha A6600

Vlogging seems to be the choice of many content creators nowadays when it comes to developing something for their audience. And, for you to vlog effectively, you will need a camera that you can rely on.

While there are certainly a lot of cameras on the market, which ones are worth it for your use-case?

In this article, I will go over some of the best cameras for vlogging in 2020 that will fulfill all of your photo and video needs.

What to Look for?

So, how can you discern an ordinary camera from a shooter that is intended for vlogging? Well, you need to be looking for some nifty features. Here are just some of the things to look for:

1.LCD Screen

Particularly one that you can flip towards the front so that you will know exactly how you will look like while you are holding the camera.

While it is handy for you to be able to change settings directly on the LCD screen, this feature is not too important. You just need a screen that allows you to see your movements while you are going around while holding the camera.

2.4K Video Recording

While it is true that most people are still stuck at 1080p resolution screens, it is nice to future-proof your device by getting a 4K resolution camera.

3.Dedicated Microphone Port

If you want to be a professional vlogger, get a camera that has an external microphone port. That is so that you can add a dedicated microphone that will vastly improve the audio quality of your recordings.

4.Good Autofocus System

Since you are going to be moving around while you are vlogging, it is important that you get a shooter with a good autofocus system.

Getting one with face and eye detection AF systems is a no-brainer but also takes advantage of a camera that has phase-detection autofocus as well.

5.Great at Taking Images

Sure, vlogging mostly requires a person to record themselves but it’s worth noting that you are not limited to just content like that; you will still need to take stills here and there.

That being said, you not only have to look at the megapixel count of the device but you also have to ensure that they give you flexibility by changing lenses perhaps.

Best Cameras for Vlogging

1.Sony ZV-1

Price: $800

Sony ZV-1 Review

Sony is one of the companies that are at the forefront of camera technology and this recommendation is basically for a camera that is mainly intended for vloggers.

The Sony ZV-1 is a bit similar to the company’s RX100 lineup in that it comes with features such as a good viewfinder and pop-up flash, to begin with, but it also has some new features of its own.

One of the main highlights is that the camera comes with a 3-capsule mic along with a windsock that will basically eliminate as much wind noise as possible. This is great if you are going to vlog outdoors on a windy day.

The ZV-1 is a 20-megapixel shooter with a 24-70mm, f/1.8-2.8 lens. This is a great choice considering that the lens itself allows you to blur background images really well thanks to its wide aperture.

Some additional features worth mentioning include a Product Highlight mode that allows you to focus on a subject well- perfect for things like showcasing a product for example.

In addition to that, you also get a Background Defocus mode that essentially sets the lens to its widest aperture setting.

Its LCD screen is really good and because this camera is quite portable, it is definitely one of the best ones out there for vlogging aficionados.

2.Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III

Price: $999

Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III

When you ask camera experts out there, they will usually recommend a mirrorless camera if you are going to be a serious vlogger. That being said, this next recommendation definitely fits the bill.

The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III does have a long name but that is backed up by some really solid features.

It is a 20.4-megapixel shooter with a Four-Thirds lens that is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps, though you can also record 4K/24fps with a 237Mbps bit-rate as well.

The camera has a really crisp LCD screen and it also has an electronic viewfinder if you want to use that. One of its highlights is the inclusion of a phase-detect autofocus feature that allows for impeccable image stabilization and super-smooth results.

This shooter’s touch screen can be used at various angles which makes it perfect from an ergonomic standpoint.

While the lack of a headphone jack might put off some people, it does come with an external microphone port for better audio recording.

The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III is a mirrorless camera to consider if you want to elevate your vlogging career.

3.Panasonic Lumix GX800/GX850

Price: $550

This next recommendation can either be called the Lumix GX800 or the GX850 depending on your region.

Anyway, this camera is also a mirrorless shooter with a Micro Four-Thirds 16-megapixel lens. While it does have a sub-20-megapixel lens, it is no slouch at all.

One of the things that I love about this device is that it is one of Panasonic’s cheapest cameras that allows you to change lenses depending on what type of content you are trying to get.

It is pretty lightweight which is perfect for vlogging and has a 180-degree, 3-inch touch screen that you can manipulate in any way you like.

The camera has the company’s Lightspeed Autofocus functionality and it is capable of recording 4K videos at continuous 30 frames per second.

While this shooter lacks a dedicated viewfinder, it pretty much makes up for it with its amazing touch screen.

Its ability to capture still images is also perfect thanks to its smart selfie modes, as well as multiple beautifying functionalities that instantly add some flair to your pictures.

Sure, the Lumix GX800/GX850 lacks some features that are present on higher-end cameras, but for what you are getting at an affordable price, you really cannot complain.

4.Sony Alpha A6600

Price: $1,400

Sony Alpha A6600

This next recommendation might be too pricey for some, but it does come with a bevy of features that would justify its price tag.

The Sony Alpha A6600’s main feature is its amazing Real-Time Eye Autofocus. By using the company’s amazing AI software, the camera is able to detect your face and eye even when you are moving, which is one of the usual pain points of a vlogger.

Because it makes use of an APS-C sensor, you can rest assured that the picture and video quality of your snaps and recordings are great even in low-light conditions.

The A6600 has a pretty good 5-axis image stabilization system that pretty much alleviates the worry of not having your face recorded in the best way possible.

It also has an impressive touch screen that allows you to take advantage of some of the camera’s other features as well.

Serious content creators will also love the fact that this shooter not only has a headphone jack, but it also has a dedicated external microphone slot as well.

Despite the fact that the A6600 comes with a lot of nifty features, it does have a major downside in that its 4K video recording quality is only maxed out at 8-bit color depth as opposed to the 10-bit color that is found in cameras such as the Fujifilm XT-4, for example.

Still, the Sony Alpha A6600 comes with a feature set that you cannot find in other cameras at the said price point.

5.Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III

Price: $650

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III

This 20.1-megapixel camera does have an effective feature set and it is offered at a much more appealing price.

The Canon Powershot G7 X Mark III comes with all of the right features. It has a dedicated microphone port so that you can elevate its sound recording functionality. You have the ability to record uncropped 4K videos at 30 frames per second and its 3-inch tilt-angle touch screen is vibrant.

One of its main advantages over the other cameras on this list is its ability to stream content directly to your Youtube account. That means that you just connect this to your home network and it will start streaming content directly to the said streaming service automatically.

Another great plus is that you can charge the device using USB so you can quickly give it enough energy before you go out again to take some pictures and videos.

Although the camera does have an AF system, it is not as good as the Sony ZV-1- a camera that is usually compared to this one.

Still, for an affordable camera for vlogging, it is still one of the best out there.

6.Sony A7 III

Price: $2,000

Sony A7 III

Another powerful (and expensive) mirrorless camera that you might want to consider for vlogging, the Sony A7 III comes with the company’s Real-Time Eye Autofocus system that was mentioned earlier. This feature alone warrants its price tag.

Aside from that, you also get dual card slots so you can rest assured that if one of your SD cards fails, there is another one that will take the recording and save it.

This camera has a full-frame 24.2-megapixel sensor that allows you to record 4K videos, as well as take amazing stills as well. In fact, I would go on to say that this is one of the best cameras if you also want a shooter that you can rely on when taking some stunning photos.

Because this device uses a full-frame sensor, it is also perfect for low-light photography as well.

Its amazing image stabilization features coupled with its impeccable sensor makes the Sony A7 III a worthy contender if you have the money to spend.

7.Canon EOS M6 Mark II

Price: $849

Canon EOS M6 Mark II

One of the things that vloggers look for in a camera is amazing portability. Since you are going to go out there and you are going to be holding the camera most of the time, you want a shooter that is easy to bring with you. That is where this next device comes in.

The Canon EOS M6 Mark II has all of the right features for vloggers and video content creators. It has a whopping 32.5-megapixel APS-C lens with the company’s Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus technology which assures you that no matter how wobbly the camera is while it is recording, it will lock-on to your face or any other subject in its lens.

You also have the ability to record uncropped 4K videos at 30 frames per second and it also has NFC, WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.0 capabilities as well.

Although it doesn’t have a viewfinder, its tilting touch screen is vibrant and can go all the way forward, making it easier for you to know how you look while you are recording.

This is an ideal camera for vloggers but if I would have to nitpick, it doesn’t come with support for the company’s vast array of lenses.

Still, this is one of the best mirrorless cameras on the market.

8.GoPro Hero8 Black

Price: $300

GoPro Hero8 Black

Some vloggers would want to capture special moments through a POV perspective and the GoPro Hero8 Black is perfectly suited just for that.

This is an action camera that is tiny enough that you can attach it on a helmet or a necklace but it does have all of the right features for vlogging on the go.

Because this is an action cam, it does have an incredible image stabilization feature that makes your recordings still easy to discern despite the fast movements.

Another thing worth mentioning is that this 12-megapixel shooter comes with a variety of mods that you can buy separately that will make your vlogging life so much easier.

10 Best Outdoor Home Security Cameras That Help Protect Your Home 24/7

Avatar

Published

on

EufyCam 2

When you are thinking of putting up your own house, you spend an incredible amount of money just to get the foundation, as well as the household items that would make it complete.

Because you are spending a huge sum of money, it is imperative that you protect your investment at all costs. One way to do that would be to install a surveillance system that not only alerts you when someone is near your house but also deters would-be intruders from getting inside.

Today, I am going to go over some of the best outdoor home security cameras that help protect your home 24/7.

Best Outdoor Home Security Cameras

1.Arlo Pro 3

Price: $500

Arlo Pro 3

Considered by many as the best outdoor security camera on the market today, the Arlo Pro 3 has a lot of nifty features that will surely protect your home from intruders.

For one, it has an IP67 rating which means that it can withstand any weather conditions- whether it is a hot sunny day or the cold winter nights, it should have no problems whatsoever.

The third version of the famous Arlo Pro line of cameras has an improved video quality of 2K resolution and it now has a wider viewing angle of 160 degrees.

What’s more, the camera has a built-in siren that you can program to trigger if its motion detectors get anything within its vicinity or you can have it manually triggered using its companion app.

Of course, it goes without saying that this product has night vision (and a colored one at that). It has some LED lights that shine brightly within its range so that can also deter intruders as well.

One of the things that you should always consider when getting a home security camera is how well it can record audio. The good thing is that this product excels on that end.

Conversations can be heard clearly and its overall audio quality is crystal clear compared to the others on the market.

This camera can also interact with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant Plus as well so you can have it do some things just by using voice commands.

Technically, you can buy one Arlo Pro 3 camera, but since it requires a base (which is only available when you buy the kit), it can be one of the most expensive cameras on the market.

But, with its feature set, the high price tag is justified.

2.Reolink Argus 2

Price: $90

Reolink Argus 2

Not a lot of people can afford the Arlo 3 camera above and if you are on the same boat, this next recommendation will be a good fit for you.

The Reolink Argus 2 is a security camera that can be installed either indoors or outdoors. It is more suited to be installed outside as it comes with night vision, but you can safely put this inside your house as well.

I like this product because there are no wires when you use its default setup. It makes use of a rechargeable battery so you do not have to contend with annoying wires at all.

You can also opt to use its solar panel attachment so that you will never have to worry about powering the device since it uses solar energy. Of course, using the camera with the attachment can prove to be bothersome to install, so just bear that in mind.

There is a companion app that you can use so that you can set up its email and push notifications. It has a built-in MicroSD card slot to store all of the video files locally and you can play them remotely by using its app as well.

This 1080p camera is pretty good but there are some issues that you need to be aware of. For one, its motion detector is a bit slow compared to its competition and you might experience WiFi issues, especially if your home router doesn’t have a good range.

But other than that, the Reolink Argus 2 is one of the best budget security cameras on the market.

3.D-Link mydlink Full HD Outdoor WiFi Camera (DCS-8600LH)

Price: $150

D-Link mydlink Full HD Outdoor WiFi Camera DCS-8600LH

D-Link is a reputable brand when it comes to networking solutions, but it also offers some competitive security cameras as well.

The D-Link DCS-8600LH is a $150 Full HD security camera with an IP65 rating. It can withstand the elements, albeit not so much so compared to the top recommendation above.

Still, it has a pretty good night vision feature and two-way audio which means that you can clearly hear what the device hears as well.

It can store files both locally (via a microSD card) and online (with the use of the company’s cloud storage solution).

Because of its small and round-shaped design, installing this thing can be a problem, especially since its coating is a bit on the smoother side.

But, the DCS-8600LH provides competitive features at a relatively low cost.

4.Kami Smart Outdoor Security Camera

Price: $60

Kami Smart Outdoor Security Camera

Another great budget security camera, the Kami smart outdoor security camera ticks all of the boxes if you want an affordable home security solution.

The camera is IP65 certified which means that it is weatherproof up to a certain extent. Its night vision provides you with a colored output and that is something really nice considering its affordable price.

Its motion detection is also surprisingly good and thanks to its dual-audio feature, you can clearly hear anyone who is talking within its range.

The camera also has smart human detection but do keep in mind that the said feature can be prone to false positives.

Still, for $60, I am surprised that this Kami security camera is priced the way that it is considering what you will get.

5.Ring Stick Up Cam

Price: $85

Ring Stick Up Cam

Although this next camera is suited for indoor use, you can actually install it outside as well thanks to its included base.

Anyway, the Ring Stick Up Cam is battery operated which means that installing it is just as easy as sticking it to its base and putting it wherever you want.

Even though it is battery-operated, you can also opt to get one with a solar panel for ease of use, though you will have to spend $20 more for that.

The Ring Stick Up Cam is quite convenient because you can do a lot of things by utilizing its companion app.

When you fire up the application, you can use its ‘Live View’ feature which basically allows you to see things within its range in real-time.

You can also choose to buy more than one Stick Up Cam and integrate all of them just by using the application as well which is a pretty nice touch.

This camera has a built-in microphone that not only records audio but can also be used to activate Amazon Alexa as well. It doesn’t support Google Assistant, however.

When you purchase this product, you will be given a code that registers you to the company’s protection plan. This basically means that you get to use its cloud storage service for 60 days, after which, you will have to pay them money if you intend to use the storage solution for more than the allotted time.

Although there is a lot to love about this device, it does have a relatively short battery life.

Still, it is a competitive budget offering with smart home features, so its downside is just a minor inconvenience.

6.Blink XT2

Price: $100

Blink XT2

If you want a subtle looking camera that is hard to see at night, the Blink XT2 is the right one for you.

Because this camera uses Two AA lithium batteries, you need not worry about any cables at all. It connects to your home network via WiFi so as long as your router has a pretty good range, you shouldn’t run into any problems setting this thing up.

What I love about the camera is that it sends you real-time alerts whenever someone is within range of the device. It can send you a short video clip along with the notification so that you will know what is currently happening in the vicinity of your home.

Aside from storing files using its MicroSD card slot, you can also choose to store the files using the company’s cloud storage solution.

Another noteworthy feature of this device is that it has customizable motion zones so you can set what specific zone you want this camera to focus on before it sends a notification to you that it detected some movement.

It records videos in Full HD and has an IP65 rating so it is weatherproof.

If you want more peace of mind, you can buy more than one Blink XT2 camera and synchronize them using the company’s mobile application. It can support both Android phones and iOS devices.

7.Google Nest CAM IQ Outdoor

Price: $330

Google Nest CAM IQ Outdoor

Google produces some of the best security cameras on the market and the Google Nest CAM IQ is one that is definitely worth considering despite its high asking price. Let me explain.

Aside from the fact that it is easy to install, the Nest CAM IQ records videos at 4K by default which provides impeccable video quality at the cost of storage space.

In addition, the camera also has HDR support and it can also provide 12x enhanced digital zoom so that you can also get to see what is within your home’s vicinity much more clearly.

The two-way audio functionality lets you talk to the person that is within the camera’s range which is perfect if you want to talk to the delivery guy or deter people from entering your house.

By using the Google Nest application, you can set the camera to record snapshots and it will save those images every 3 hours.

Its IP66 rating ensures that this security product can withstand the hottest days and the coldest nights without any issues.

Because this security camera is made by Google, you can integrate it with other Google products as well.

The only real issue here is the price, but if you can afford it, this is a serious contender.

8.Deep Sentinel 3-in-1 Cam Starter Kit

Price: $399 for 1 camera, $699 for the 3-camera kit

Deep Sentinel 3-in-1 Cam Starter Kit

One of the most unique camera kits that you can buy on the market, the Deep Sentinel security camera is the one that you’d want to consider for maximum peace of mind.

Let’s talk about the camera first. It can record videos in 1080p and has an IP rating of IP65 which can withstand pretty much all weather conditions.

Aside from that, it has a two-way communication feature, as well as a 130-degree viewing angle which is respectable for a security camera.

It is battery-powered and can be recharged using the included solar charging kit. The cameras are quite efficient though and the company even says that they can last up to 9 months on a single charge, which is definitely impressive.

The unit also comes with a pretty loud siren rated at 104dB, so you may want to tinker that so as to not annoy the neighbors.

But, the camera is only one part of the equation. When you purchase a 3-in-1 camera kit, you also get to use the company’s live monitoring service as well. This is how it works:

The camera operates 24/7 and whenever it detects motion within its range, it will discern the subject first. If it is an intruder, the camera will start recording some footage and the recording will be sent to the company’s office for review.

There will be a live person that is going to assess the feed and will take appropriate actions when necessary.

Seriously, this is one of the only camera kits out there that provide this level of service, which also explains why the kit alone is quite expensive.

However, if you want maximum security and peace of mind, this is the camera kit you should get.

9.Lorex Smart Outdoor Security Camera

Price: $150

Lorex Smart Outdoor Security Camera

Although most of the security cameras that you can find on the market can withstand harsh weather conditions, most of them cannot withstand a predominantly cold season. It is imperative that you get a camera that is built for frigid temperatures and the Lorex Smart Outdoor security camera is one of them.

This camera is a bit small, but do not let its stature fool you. The unit is designed to withstand temperatures as low as -30 Celsius which is pretty insane!

This particular security product also comes with some handy features to go along with it as well. It has support for 2-way audio, has a built-in siren, and has a pretty bright spotlight as well.

Of course, it goes without saying that it also has motion detectors and their performance is okay, but nothing really to brag about.

10.EufyCam 2

Price: $300

EufyCam 2

If you’ve ever heard about the company, Anker, you will find out that they actually have a sister company that specializes in security equipment called ‘Eufy’.

That being said, the EufyCam 2 is another well-rounded security camera that you can install outside your house.

It has a better IP rating at 67 which makes cold and wet weather a non-issue. It is compatible with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa so you can use some smart home features as well.

This unit’s battery life is so great because it is rated to last an entire year. It is also rechargeable so you need not worry about replacing it at all.

With its included 100dB siren, you can ward off any would-be intruders out of your house which is a nice touch.

The only thing that might put off some people is that it has a slight delay in its video recording feature, though it is not as bad as you think.

Security cameras are a must in this day and age to protect your home and family. The ones that are mentioned in this article should provide you with an additional level of protection and are the most bang-for-the-buck so you will get your money’s worth.
